Automated Swing Gates, Sliding gates, intercoms and remote control.

Why have automated gates?

Remote Control

Automated gates have huge advantages over manual gates. An automated gate eliminates the hassle that comes with large and heavy manual gates that many people struggle with or just do not want to get out of their car to open and close especially late at night or in bad weather. Just the press of a button on a remote control allows you easy access to your home.

Intercoms and Video entry systems

Visitors can use an intercom at the gates to contact you before you admit them. A handset in the house allows you to push a button to open the gates.  If preferred you can have a video entry system that allows you to see who is calling as well as speaking to them before opening the gates.  Both hard wired and wireless versions are available

Telephone based intercoms

A telephone based intercom makes a call over  a landline or mobile network.  You can then take the call on any phone in the property or a mobile phone.  By pushing a key on your handset it is possible to open the gates from anywhere in the world!  These systems are especially suitable for multi-user sites as they eliminate the need to run cables to each property.

Digital Keypads

Either as "stand alone" or integrated into the panel of an intercom they allow the entry of anyone knowing the code.  Multiple codes can be used so individuals have their own code.

Security Gates

Electric Gates also gives a significant improvement in home security as they make it extremely difficult for burglars or unwanted callers to open the gates and gain access to your home, or even to approach the house to "case the joint"!

Automation Equipment

In order to give reliable operation it is imperative that remote controlled gates use the highest quality equipment installed to the highest standard.  Parsons Brothers install market leading BFT gate automation. Their parent company All-Tech (Midlands) Ltd has been the Midlands distributor for BFT for many years and has wealth of experience at their disposal.

Safety

All automated gate installations comply with safety regulations with site-specific risk assessments being carried out where appropriate.  Gates are equipped with safety devices to prevent gates closing on obstructions. Special consideration is given to sliding gate safety.

What type of automation should you have installed?

Swinging Gates

The high quality gates that we manufacture are often heavier than other manufacturers due to the larger sections that we use to avoid that "spindly" look.  For swinging gates we, therefore, usually recommend the use of heavy-duty hydraulic operators.  These can be above or below ground.  Above ground is lower in cost both for the equipment and installation but is not generally suitable for use on brick pillars. Whilst widely used in more commercial types of installation it does detract from the appearance of the gates.  Underground "Sub" operators are extremely reliable.  They are fully sealed (IP67 rating) and can even operate if submerged by flash flooding.

Sliding Gates

For many sites sliding gates are the ideal solution.  This may be for drives that slope up making inward opening gates impractical. It could be because inward opening gates would restricted the space available inside or it may be because of the higher level of security that is possible with a sliding gate.

Track or Cantilever

Sliding gates can be installed with a track buried in the ground with just a few millimetres showing or can be fitted to cantilever gear .  This eliminates the track in the ground by use of a slotted box section fitted to the bottom of the gate.  This runs on heavy-duty internal rollers fitted to one side of the gate.  It offers the ability to cope with cross-drive slopes and is ideal in heavy traffic locations eliminating the ground track that is normally driven over.

Gate Design

Most designs of swinging gates including rising top styles can be built as a slider whilst retaining the appearance of swinging gates.
